Our Goals

UK Defence First is an independent campaign dedicated to making defence and security the first priority of the UK Government. It calls for the defence of the UK by sea, air, land, space and cyber by:

• Having the ability to act alone

• Having the industrial capability to supply UK forces

• Growing a UK-based military industrial complex

• Operating in cooperation with others, such as AUKUS, Five Eyes and NATO

• Maintaining an independent UK nuclear deterrent

• A minimum of 5 per cent of GDP actually spent on defence & security

• Protecting systems from cyber threats

• Flexibility and value for money in procurement

• Growing an appreciation across society of our armed forces and its veterans

• Creating a more attractive career path for young people entering the armed forces
